A short checklist of what an invoicing system must handle to stay compliant, and what to ask your provider.
E-invoicing is no longer a matter of printing an invoice from a program. The invoice has to be created, stored and shared electronically in the format the authority requires.
What to check
- Tax and simplified tax invoices are issued from the system itself, not edited afterwards.
- Every invoice carries its QR code and reference number automatically.
- Credit and debit notes are linked to the original invoice.
- Invoices cannot be deleted or changed after they are issued; corrections go through notes.
- The system is updated when the requirements change, without work on your side.
Ask your provider how updates are delivered and who is responsible for them. In a cloud ERP the provider maintains the integration, which is one of the practical reasons to choose it.
